Recently, we had the privilege to design and developed two custom websites for Motivair Corporation, a major industrial manufacturer of commercial cooling systems based in Amherst, NY.
One of the primary focuses of the project was presenting the new brand for their flagship product the ChilledDoor, which is an ultra-efficient, high-end, cooling unit. It is used by the likes of eBay, the federal government and other high profile clients to keep their servers from overheating. Commercial Chillers are an odd niche to present as “sexy”, but the ChilledDoor occupies an interesting market that dovetails within the tech industry, so we set to work capturing that vibe.
Following the brand proposition, “Who says data center tech isn’t sexy?”, we created a site that uses flat, clean colors, smooth fading css3 transitions, a parallax banner and minimalistic, modern type. The necessity for big, impressive product images was a no-brainer, and since everyone and their dog is viewing the web on a mobile device nowadays, the whole thing is “Responsive” – meaning it works elegantly on nearly all mobile devices. Go ahead, try it on your phone!
To avoid a mismatch in branding between their primary website and the ChilledDoor site we also completely redesigned their company website with the same cool touch. Old school websites tend to contain smaller images, fixed-width elements, dated visuals, and cluttered content that passes for average. We enhanced the look and feel of our clients site using an animated parallax banner, clean and useful product pages that effectively convey the information to the audience, and modern, flat visuals that are fully Responsive and bring their online brand up to date.
Both sites link together, solidifying the separation between the brands through distinct domains but also bringing cohesiveness and a beauty to the user experience. To top it off, we built both sites on the Open-Source Content Management System WordPress which allows Motivair to easily and immediately modify the content on their site whenever they need to.
